I arrived at the hotel in the Brisbane CBD and preparations were well under way with the girls. With Kirrin’s family, who had flown in from various exotic places all over the world, popping in there was plenty of action in the room. When we got a little closer to departure time, Kirrin’s sister and best mate were there to help settle the nerves when they finally appeared in the otherwise very cool bride. Aside from the slight eyelash malfunction (don’t touch it!) everything went very smoothly and the girls were soon ready to leave.
Upon arrival at the the ceremony, family and friends were slowly filtering in and Matt and his best man were looking pretty relaxed. Kirrin and her bridal party soon arrived and Kirrin and Matt were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony overlooking a lovely lake at Cherbon waters surrounded by family and friends. I must mention that I took on board a lot of what was said during the ceremony, the English priest making a making a very big impression on me with his personal approach. Things that will live with me for the remainder of my marriage.
We were at a great spot for photos and went off for our location shots. Two of the shots are some of my favourites for the year (look out for my best of 2011 to follow later this month which will include these). With a few of the funniest location conversations on record, a water rat and plenty of great shots we were soon back at the reception for Kirin and Matt’s entrance. A night which contained heartfelt speeches by parents, a very funny best man’s speech and some serious dancing was a wonderful celebration of the wedding of this fun couple.
Thanks Matt and Kirrin, it was lovely to meet your friendly and lovely family and I wish you the best for your future together. It was a pleasure to photograph your wedding.
